If You Have a Unit Meeting Coming Up, Be Sure to Order an AFS Toolkit!

If you have an in-person unit meeting coming up, be sure to get a membership outreach toolkit to help promote membership in your unit as well as the Society. The toolkit includes the following items to be displayed or featured at unit meetings:

• A stack of hardcopy postcards that include basic information of what AFS is and how to join. These include a high-quality photo of a fish (species labeled and photo locally sourced of a beloved regional species) to help grab people’s attention.
• Three pop-up stands displaying AFS promotional flyers: an About AFS flyer with a QR code to join, a Sections flyer, and a flyer to promote the next AFS annual meeting.
• AFS Publications varia – postcards and a display copy of Fisheries magazine
• A PowerPoint slide deck that we ask the Unit President and/or meeting moderator to show as part of their welcome comments. Chapters can customize the slides to add information or highlight their Chapter.
• Other popular branded items including AFS stickers and pens. 

Order your toolkit by filling out a toolkit order form or communicate directly with Membership Manager Kelly Kotche at kkotche@fisheries.org. She will make sure you get branded items for your meeting – please remember this is an AFS benefit, and everyone should encourage AFS membership at their meeting. This will allow AFS to continue to provide these member benefits to all units. Thank you for all you do for AFS – it is greatly appreciated!

Show Your Colors – Order a Branded Tablecloth for Your Next Meeting! 

One of the purposes of the toolkit is to give AFS branding exposure; branding is a vital part of our messaging and visibility. To promote both your unit and the Society, we ask that every unit display a tablecloth with both the unit and AFS logos at their registration or information table. The Southern New England Chapter ordered their own branded tablecloths for their most recent meeting, and they turned out so well, we were inspired to ask every unit to do the same!

While AFS cannot provide these for every unit, we encourage Chapters, Divisions, and Sections holding in-person events to purchase their own custom tablecloth.

Tablecloths can be ordered through Voss Signs, a longtime AFS partner that also provides complimentary signage for our annual meetings. The Membership Committee has set standards to ensure consistent branding. Voss will do all the work and layout for you and send you a mockup of the design for you to approve. There are two styles:

1.Premium Table Throw – Four options based on 6′- or 8′-foot size and number of sides
2. 6’/8′ Convertible Table Throw – One option – Velcro fixtures allow you to easily change size of tablecloth accordingly.

To order your branded tablecloth, simply email your unit’s logo to Tom Tenerovicz at Voss at tom@vosssigns.com and let him know which style and option you prefer. Voss will do the rest!
