Symposium 16

Published 1996

Managing reservoirs for often conflicting uses in an era when public involvement in planning and policymaking is growing requires managers to consider social concerns along with habitat and fish. This expansion of traditional concerns is well illustrated by this proceedings of the Third National Reservoir Fisheries Symposium held in 1995. The 47 papers are organized into an introductory section and eight topic areas of which four topics focus directly on social aspects of reservoir fisheries management. This book will provide reservoir fisheries managers with the latest thinking on fish and their environment, but goes beyond those traditional subjects to give readers a working knowledge of other disciplines that will be useful in seeking solutions to contemporary reservoir fisheries problems.
