The new Science Communication Section (SCS) will serve as a home for members interested in learning new knowledge and skills, sharing their talents and success stories, and expanding ways to promote fisheries science to policy-makers, stakeholders, and the public.
We will focus on expanding the science communication knowledge and skills of AFS members in three ways:
1) Serve as a networking hub for those actively participating in fisheries science communication,
2) Provide training and resources for those interested in gaining and improving communication skills,
3) Offer a structure for people seeking science communication expertise for projects, jobs, etc.
The Science Communication Section is accepting Free memberships until the first SCS Business meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd in Tampa at the AFS annual meeting. AFS members in good standing can join the SCS by filling out a membership form at: https://goo.gl/SDmbzc
Science Communication comes in many forms and covers a variety of skills. What are your interests in science communication? What areas would you like to see the SCS address? Let us know! Join Today and share your ideas at: https://goo.gl/SDmbzc
