Virtual Continuing Education Course:
Description
This workshop provides a hands-on, beginner-friendly foundation in the R programming language and the RStudio environment. The workshop emphasizes practical skills for working with data, including data import, manipulation, visualization, and basic statistical computing, with an emphasis on best practices for reproducible data analysis.
Participants will gain experience navigating the RStudio interface, understanding basic R syntax, working with common R data types, and creating new variables. Additional topics include importing and exploring datasets, using functions and R packages, summarizing data, and creating clear and informative figures. By the end of the workshop, participants will have the skills needed to begin analyzing their own data and to pursue more advanced fisheries analysis in R.
Installation of R and RStudio is required prior to the workshop. No prior experience with R or RStudio is required.
