Every organization has different goals and needs – so why should partnerships have the same benefits for every organization? AFS wanted to meet organizations where they are, so it restructured the program so that each package is custom designed for each organization’s specific needs.
This newly revamped program is designed to offer high-impact, year-round investment opportunities for organizations, tailored for partners seeking deeper engagement, greater visibility, and meaningful involvement in fisheries science, policy and workforce development.

Package Details:
Bulk Memberships
For every 10 memberships purchased, one additional membership is provided at no cost which is equivalent to a 10% discount.
Job Postings
The standard cost for an enhanced job posting is $400 for non-partners. As a partner, this rate is reduced to $250 per post. Additionally, discounts begin at 6% per post when purchasing a minimum of five postings, with higher discounts available as the total number of postings increases.
Professional Development & Continuing Education Resources
AFS can coordinate customized training on a topic of interest for your organization. For example, AFS facilitated a “Higher-Level Thinking for Better Problem-Solving” course for 30 employees of a current partner. You can find more information about this course here: https://fisheries.org/membership/continuing-education/higher-level-thinking-course/. The cost for that session was $2,500. By comparison, the standard per-person rate is $125 for AFS members and $200 for non-members. Assuming all participants are members, enrolling 25 individuals at the standard rate would total $3,125 which results in a savings of $625 when utilizing the group training option at the lower end of the 25–50 participant range. If you are considering a larger group (e.g., up to 50 participants), the cost may increase slightly, but it would still represent significant overall savings compared to individual registration. If you’re interested in a different topic, AFS would be happy to connect you with our Director who oversees these programs to explore additional training options that align with your needs.
Meeting Sponsorship
For partners with total engagement of $10,000 or more, every 10 meeting registrations will earn a $1,000 credit toward a meeting sponsorship. For partners with total engagement below $10,000, every 15 meeting registrations will earn a $1,000 meeting sponsorship credit. The entry-level Contributor Sponsor package ($1,000 value) includes recognition on meeting materials and the event website. Higher-level sponsorship packages offer additional benefits, including complimentary registrations and tradeshow booth space. Essentially, depending on engagement value, for every 10 or 15 meeting registrations your organization will automatically become a sponsor and receive benefits for the level of the sponsorship credit value. Newsletter Promotion
Partners with total AFS engagement of $10,000 or more will receive a complimentary partner highlight in the newsletter, a dedicated social media post, and inclusion on a scrolling banner on the AFS website. Partners with $7,500 in engagement may purchase a newsletter highlight and social media post package for $1,500. Partners with engagement below $7,500 may purchase either a newsletter highlight or a social media post for $3,000.
Partner engagement value is calculated as the total annual investment an organization makes across AFS offerings, including memberships, job postings, institutional subscriptions, the books program, continuing education and professional development access, brand promotion opportunities, and meeting registrations or sponsorships.
