Small Impoundment Management in North America was developed by fisheries scientists and professionals from academia, state and Federal natural resource agencies, and private management firms. This project was conceived at the 2008 spring meeting of the Southern Division of the American Fisheries Society during the Small Impoundments Technical Committee meeting. The goal of the project is primarily to produce an educational tool for new fisheries managers, but secondarily the compilation is meant to serve as a reference text for the practicing biologist. Each chapter is fully referenced to allow readers access to more detailed and advanced information when needed. The book should be of use to fisheries undergraduate and graduate students, professional fisheries researchers and managers, private consultants, and advanced pond owners.
