President Jesse Trushenski Says: Be a Part of the Conversation!

The 2019 Joint Conference of the American Fisheries Society and The Wildlife Society in Reno, Nevada, is shaping up to be a once-in-a-career opportunity for natural resource professionals to share and learn from one another. Abstract Submission Deadline: April 12

This first-ever, joint conference with The Wildlife Society in Reno promises to be unique in a number of ways. And with 90+ symposia submissions under consideration, we expect that poster and oral presentation abstract submissions will be impressive as well. Please go here by April 12 to submit your abstract for symposia and contributed paper sessions.

Joint Fish and Wildlife Virtual Science Issue

Thanks to publications staff and editors from both AFS and TWS, and our publisher, Wiley, we produced this joint, virtual issue featuring research on fish and wildlife. This led to collaborative symposia and other proposals. Read the impressive group of papers here.

Continuing Education and Other Program Highlights

Join AFS for a Continuing Education Course in Reno! These half and full-day sessions offer participants a chance to take a deeper dive into specific topics related to fisheries biology. Approved courses include Bayesian Analyses with JAGS and GIS. Additional courses will be announced pending approval. Symposia topics from sci comm to climate impacts to wildfire impacts will make for great science.

On Wednesday, October 2, we will offer evening Partner Associated Networking Receptions, during which government agencies, universities, and partner nonprofits will set aside time to meet with conference participants. What a great networking opportunity!
