Commenting Open on Revised WOTUS Rule

AFS issues statement saying that the proposed Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) Rule, released last week by EPA, fails to consider science and threatens fish and fisheries. The statement was supported by an AFS paper on deleterious impacts.

Research Shows Value of Intermittent Streams

An intermittent stream in Colorado is shown to support extensive spawning of large‐river native fishes. Intermittent streams make up a large percentage of all stream habitats, with significant roles in spawning, foraging, refugia, and early life history habitat for many fishes but comments have been requested about whether such streams should continue to be protected under the Clean Water Act.
