April 19 - Abstract Deadline for Reno Joint Conference

As many of you know already, the deadline for Reno abstracts has been extended to April 19. Thank you for all of your submissions thus far! We hope the slight extension will lessen your stress and allow you to peruse the 90+ accepted AFS symposia here.

Comments and Briefing on the Waters of the US Rule

Thank you for submitting your comments to help protect the "Clean Water Rule." While the comment period has ended, AFS continues to work with partners to drive the message home. On April 4, AFS hosted a Congressional briefing about the harmful impacts of redefining the Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) and submitted three letters of opposition with various partners.

Reno Registration Opens May 1

Registration for the Joint Conference with The Wildlife Society in Reno will open on May 1, for those of you wanting to get a head start. In the meantime, too, we have upgraded our registration and membership renewal platforms to be more user-friendly. Any feedback is appreciated!

Travel Grants to Reno

Early Career Professionals: The AFS Education Section is offering travel assistance to attend the 2019 Joint Conference with The Wildlife Society in Reno. The award provides up to $1,000 in travel support and applications are due April 15.
Students: Any student who is active in fisheries or related aquatic disciplines and has not previously won a full Skinner Award is eligible to apply for this $800 award. Applications are due May 1.
