On June 5, please join the local AFS Annual Meeting team to hear about special events, symposia, CE courses, and family-friendly activities being offered in Atlantic City. We look forward to answering your questions and sharing highlights with you.

Childcare will be provided by Nanny Poppinz at the Convention Center Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and as needed for networking events in the evenings. There will also be a space for lactation.

AFS Chapters Sign Up to Support RAWA

33 AFS Chapters and Student Subunits have added their signatures to a letter in support of the Recovering America's Wildlife Act, now co-sponsored by dozens of members of the U.S. Congress. Sign up your Chapter by May 22.

New Book: Planning and Standard Operating Procedures for the Use of Rotenone in Fish Management

This revised manual contains four chapters, beginning with an expanded introduction that contains up-to-date information and references on the environmental fate, fish and wildlife toxicity, and public health studies on rotenone, and product stewardship concepts to reduce environmental impacts.

Predicted and Observed Responses of a Nonnative Channel Catfish Population

Large‐scale mechanical removal of nonnative fishes has been implemented throughout parts of the Colorado River basin to aid recovery of endangered fishes, but the effects of these efforts can be difficult to quantify.

Partnership to Restore Bull Trout Across Federal, State, Private, and Historic Tribal Land

In the latest Fisheries Magazine, researchers review a 28‐year project to restore a Bull Trout Salvelinus confluentus population in a small Oregon watershed. Restoration evolved from eradication and exclusion of nonnative fishes within the boundaries of a national park to stream reconstruction and reconnection of a historical stream network across state and private property.

Survey Request

Help Dr. Randy Singer at the Florida Museum of Natural History collect data for his Ph.D. by participating in a survey that evaluates how fish researchers interact with biodiversity (natural history) collections. The survey is anonymous and voluntary.
