Fisheries professionals, students, researchers, and those interested in the health of fisheries resources, freshwater and marine, from Central America, South America, and the Caribbean will gather in Cancun, Mexico, on May 15–18, 2023 for the inaugural LACFC. \The event aims to demonstrate the incredible volume of high-quality fisheries science and conservation being conducted throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. This science will be front and center. The conference will also emphasize professional development through many learning and educational opportunities.

La Sociedad Americana de Pesquerías (AFS: American Fisheries Society) invita a todos los interesados en la ciencia, gestión y conservación de pesquerías en América Latina y el Caribe, a participar en el 1er "Congreso Latinoamericano y del Caribe de Pesquerías" a realizarse del 15 al 18 de mayo de 2023, en el Centro de Convenciones de la Ciudad de Cancún, México.

El objetivo del congreso es el de mostrar el gran volumen de investigación de alta calidad sobre la conservación y las ciencias pesqueras en América Latina y el Caribe. El Congreso Latinoamericano y del Caribe de Pesquerías permitirá abordar los avances en el estudio de sistemas marinos y dulceacuícolas en la región, con cursos de capacitación profesional, eventos para estudiantes, así como con presentaciones orales y en cartel y otras actividades académicas, presenciales y virtuales.
