14th ICBF congress new dates : July 6th to 9th 2021
Dear Participants and Friends,
We hope that you are doing well and are safe at home. The COVID-19 outbreak obliged us to consider the upcoming event in Montpellier.
After much discussion and consideration, the Local Organising Committee reached the conclusion that, to ensure the safety and well-being of our conference speakers and attendees, the most appropriate solution was to postpone the 14th ICBF. This decision aims not only to minimise the health risks related to COVID-19 but also to recognise the likelihood that many attendees will be under travel restrictions from their home countries and institutions.
Postponing the ICBF allows us to maintain the excellent momentum that we had all established for this 14th congress in the series, with a very high quality collection of scientific sessions in the tradition of these meetings. We are delighted to announce that the 14th ICBF congress will take place in Montpellier in July 2021 from the 6th to 9th.
Please put this in your agendas and we look forward, as ever, to welcoming you to Montpellier! Thank you for your understanding, in these unprecedented times.
The Organising committee
We warmly welcome you to the 14th International Congress on the Biology of Fish (ICBF) in Montpellier in the south of France. These international ICBF meetings started in 1994 and have established themselves, every second year, as a premier event for the global community of researchers in the field of fish physiology.
The ICBF2020 in Montpellier is a great opportunity for this community to gather over four days, to share information about our most recent research developments. The ICBF2020 is organised by the Physiology Section of the American Fisheries Society, in collaboration with a Local Organising Committee of fish physiologists from the Centre of Marine Biodiversity Exploitation and Conservation (MARBEC).
After a plenary session with talks by leading international experts, the ICBF2020 has a full programme of five to six concurrent thematic sessions over the four days, organised by renowned researchers. These are on a broad range of topics that reflect current research in fish conservation physiology, environmental physiology, evolutionary physiology, use of fishes in biomedical research, etc.
The thematic sessions will comprise oral and poster presentations, selected by the session organisers from the submitted abstracts. A special emphasis is placed upon contributions by early career researchers. We encourage you, therefore, to submit your abstract for an oral or poster presentation at the ICBF2020 in Montpellier.
After great meetings in cities such as Barcelona, Calgary, Edinburgh, Manaus, Portland, San Francisco, the ICBF2020 will take place from June 29th to July 2nd 2020 at the Corum Conference centre in Montpellier, France. This 14th International Congress on the Biology of Fish will provide an opportunity to enjoy the company of our international colleagues, to exchange information and establish long lasting collaborations.
We will be delighted to welcome you to Montpellier in 2020!
