The Wild Salmon Center (WSC) is seeking a research scientist with a passion for salmon conservation to join our Portland, OR office. The person in this position will work with WSC’s Science Director to develop and execute applied salmon conservation research, provide scientific support for conservation initiatives, and communicate science findings to policy makers, managers, and the general public.
An ideal applicant for this position will have a background or aptitude for quantitative analyses, including GIS and statistical programming in R, expertise in such areas as freshwater ecology, hydrology, geomorphology, and salmon life histories. Candidates with PhD’s preferred, but exceptional earlier-career candidates (e.g., post Masters) with appropriate skillsets and experience will be considered.
