Serve as lead diagnostician and provide research assistance with shrimp disease diagnostic cases (testing shrimps for OIE pathogens); maintain equipment to operational standards and generally maintain laboratory to QA/QC standards; order supplies, maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, invoice clients, track budgets/expenditures; train students in disease diagnostics; write annual reports, assist in compiling data, participate in publication of research on aquatic animal health and shrimp diseases; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor’s degree or higher from accredited institution in Aquatic Biology, Fisheries, Marine Science, or related field. Previous work experience as a diagnostician OR conducting research related to aquatic animal health and disease diagnostics is desired. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated technical excellence, ability to work independently and in a team environment, and a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one prior to selection are also required.
