This position develops and evaluates biological monitoring and sampling for salmon stocks within the Tribe’s Usual and Accustomed Area using statistical software such as R. The selected candidate will write technical reports for research projects / management evaluations, review reports / analyses from other staff, and participate in interagency technical forums related to harvest management.
A MSc in Fisheries Science, Fisheries Biology, or closely related field including or supplemented by 13 semester or 20 quarter hours of statistics and/or biometrics (course numbers 300 or higher) from an accredited college/university is required at the time of hiring. Transcripts are required. In addition, three years of experience as a Biologist/Scientist for salmon harvest management and research and previous field supervisory experience is required. A PhD may substitute for some of the required experience.
