The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team whose goal is modeling economic and ecological interactions of a major commercial clam fishery and proposed wind energy farms. Position is based at the Haskin Shellfish Research Lab (Port Norris, NJ) at Rutgers University, in Prof. Daphne Munroe’s group. Will include frequent travel to meet with project collaborators and management and fishing community advisors. Postdoc will be responsible for coordinating meetings, collection of data from advisory teams and primary literature, planning and running simulations of ocean energy/fishery interactions, and writing reports and manuscripts.
PhD in ecology, fisheries, data science or related fields. Preference will be given to applicants with 1) expertise in shellfish ecology, fisheries, or resource management; 2) strong communication, team, and organization skills; 3) can code in R, MatLab, Fortran or similar languages; and 4) strong publication records and proven written/oral communication skills.
