Lead a funded project involving angler apps and citizen science in support of rockfish conservation in coastal British Columbia. Test for evidence of an increase in angler compliance with MPAs and the use of descending devices. Coursework through BSU’s Environmental Sciences PhD, and 1-2 months/year in the field in Victoria, BC with collaborators Natalie Ban and Francis Juanes (UVictoria), Dana Haggarty (Fisheries and Oceans Canada), Jenna Falk (The Galiano Conservancy), Sean Simmons (Angler’s Atlas), and others.
Relevant M.Sc., proficient with statistical and spatial software, quantitative skills, experience publishing. Other assets include experience with citizen science, human dimensions, and large data sets. Must be able to cross the US/Canada border.
