As an at-sea Data Manager, working aboard one of our US domestic commercial fishing vessels, you will be responsible for working with vessel management to ensure compliance with all applicable fisheries laws and regulations. This involves working with multiple data sets and spreadsheets, monitoring and tracking vessel quota, bycatch, and submitting required government reports and documents. Staying current on fisheries status and facilitating proper and accurate daily record keeping logs onboard the vessel is a priority. Aside from data management, this position is also responsible for collecting daily quality control (QC) samples, filling out daily QC reports, and collecting biological samples. Individual at-sea rotations typically run between 65 - 80 days in length.
This position requires proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Applicants must have at-sea experience and familiarity with fisheries regulations is preferred. The Data Manager works long, often irregular hours with at least 3-4 hours daily spent working in factory.
