Conduct research on trace element microchemistry in calcified structures of Gulf Sturgeon. Research will involve coordination with field collection of water and fish tissue samples, modeling predicted movement and associated uncertainty based on chemical changes in calcified tissues, and directed laboratory studies using live sturgeon utilizing fish husbandry skills. The student is anticipated to start July 2020 or as negotiated.
Bachelor’s degree in fisheries, aquaculture, comparative physiology, ecology, biology or related field with competitive GPA and GRE scores. Research experience is preferred. Application review will begin 4/1/2020 and continue until a suitable applicant is found.
