A MS student assistantship is available for a research and extension project exploring the feasibility of using tilapia as a biological control of aquatic vegetation in Midwestern ponds. This project will involve methodological design, field- and lab-based experiments, and quantitative analysis, as well as extension program design and evaluation. This is a collaborative project between fish ecologists and extension specialists, as well as state agencies and private companies.
BS in Biology, Ecology, Fisheries Science, or related field; GPA of 3.2 or greater
