Responsibilities

Conduct scientific monitoring and implement restoration projects focused on native diadromous or “Sea-Run” species in Maine. Primary responsibilities of this position will be to: 1) Oversee and implement a new adult salmon stocking program and monitor its efficacy in an adaptive framework, 2) Assist others in monitoring diadromous fish populations statewide by recruiting, training, and supporting citizen scientists to monitor selected species in their local rivers and streams, and 3) assist in developing new restoration opportunities for Sea-Run species statewide.  Focal species are Atlantic salmon, rainbow smelt, tomcod, and river herring.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of relevant experience minimum.
