A graduate student position is available in the Center for Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences at Eastern Illinois University starting in Spring 2021 (early start date negotiable). The position will focus on catfish populations in the Wabash River. Work will entail the use of classic fisheries methods and analyses. May include but not limited to hoop nets, gill nets, AC/DC EF, trotlines, etc. in order to evaluate population dynamics in order to inform management decisions The student will assist with various field and laboratory tasks. Boat operation experience and general knowledge of fisheries field/lab techniques is preferred. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and work in inclement weather conditions. Must possess a valid driver’s license with at least 5 years driving experience.
