The M.S. students will be responsible for developing a thesis that provides extensive information on the distribution, habitat use, and demographics of invasive carp and native fishes of the lower Mississippi River (Red River basin of OK, TX, and AR). Students will be co-advised by Dr. Shannon Brewer and Dr. Dennis Devries.
B.S. in fisheries science, ecology, or related field with experience with age and growth and basic fish sampling (electrofishing and use of gill, hoop, and other nets). Applicants should have >3.2 GPA and > 50% on GRE. Interested students should submit a CV with three references, and a writing sample (manuscript, review paper, or research paper for a course) to the investigator.
Ad Closing Date: November 15, 2020 or until filled by qualified candidate (application review will begin in November but earlier correspondence with interested students is encouraged). One position is anticipated to begin Jan 2020 and the other in June 2020.
