Works under the supervision of the Research & Monitoring Manager, responsible for participating in all aspects of field investigations by applying sound science and technology to perform salmon research, enhancement and rehabilitation projects. Requires the ability to work both in the office and in remote field camps for extended periods. Will direct and support field projects, including training field technicians; analyze data and generate reports; and assist in Mark and Age evaluation.
BS/BA in fisheries or related natural resources field, AND experience working in field and/or lab settings with increasing levels of responsibility. Must have working knowledge of data collection techniques. Experience operating small skiffs, outboard motors, ATVs, and field camp construction desired. Team building and leadership skills necessary. Physical requirements include backcountry hiking and wading in cold water streams while carrying heavy backpack.
