This is a policy position, the primary responsibility is the development of appropriate fishery management plans and amendments, presentations, and other public information materials. Identification and characterization of relevant biological and fishery data for analyzing management actions. Requires travel throughout the Gulf of Mexico for meetings of the Council and related activities.
Minimum ofMaster’s degree in fisheries biology, marine resource management, or equivalent. The individual should have strong written and verbal skills. Preference will be given for knowledge of Gulf fisheries, invertebrate biology/taxonomy, benthic habitats, and technical writing.
