Primary responsibilities include assisting fish culturists in the implementation of the day to day fish culture activities. Activities include spawning of adult salmon and steelhead, egg and juvenile fish husbundry, implements water and feed treatments, cleaning and sweeping rearing containers, sample counts, weighing and feeding of fish feed. Work consists of a 40 hour week, with some night and weekend work required.
TEMPORARY/SEASONAL POSITION: THE STARTING DATE IS TENTATIVELY SET FOR OCTOBER 30, 2017 – JUNE 30, 2018. THE WORK LOCATION IS CLEARWATER FISH HATCHERY, AHSAHKA, IDAHO.
Coursework toward BS degree in Fisheries, Wildlife Management, other related areas of study or equivilent knowledge that is typically gained through previous experience as a biological aide is strongly encouraged but not required. Applicants should have some knowledge of; life history, anatomy, and ecology of various fish species; identifying various fish species; operating power tools and general maintenace and repair skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel as needed
