Primary responsibilities include assisting fish culturist in the implementation of the day to day fish culture activities at the hatchery facility. Activities include but are not limited to; spawning of adult salmon and steelhead, egg and juvenile fish husbandry, implementing water and feed treatments, and other associated fish culture duties (cleaning and sweeping rearing containers, sample counts, weighing and feeding of fish feed, etc.). Work consists of a 30-40 hour work week, with some night and weekend work required. Some duties may require extended stays overnight in remote locations.
College course work in a Natural Resource/Biological Science is strongly preferred but not mandatory. Previous fish hatchery experience a plus, but not required. Candidates with course work and/or previous experience will be given preference. Must be at least 18 years of age.
