This position will manage and supervise project to evaluate the reintroduction of freshwater mussels using the principles of bivalve mollusk science, population dynamics, statistics, sampling theory, and experimental design for freshwater habitats in Northeast Oregon and Southwest Washington. The selected candidate will provide technical oversight to implement defensible actions such as freshwater mussel identification, population monitoring, collecting, holding or transporting mussels, implementing translocation and artificial propagation reintroduction programs, data collection/statistical analysis/reporting, supervision and internal/interagency/public coordination.
Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science or closely related field with seven years of job experience or a Master’s degree in Fisheries Science with at least five years of experience. Demonstrate knowledge of experimental design for freshwater mussels involving above listed tasks.
