The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) is currently recruiting for the position of Fisheries Biologist. IDFG will use the register developed from this announcement to fill the current openings and may also use this register to fill future statewide openings for the following job titles: Regional Fisheries Biologist, Regional Fisheries Habitat Biologist, Fishery Research Biologist, and Anadromous Fisheries Biologist. Current Openings include a Fishery Research Biologist at our Panhandle Region (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho) and a Regional Fisheries Biologist at our Salmon Region (Salmon, Idaho). Responsibilities include Collects, analyzes, and interprets life history, habitat, and research data for various fish species and prepares technical reports; Provides input on management strategies and plans and land-acquisition priorities for fisheries projects; Reviews and comments on environmental impact statements; Investigates and reports on fish kills including pesticide and pollution incidents; Conducts fish salvage and fish stocking operations; Monitors stream-channel alterations; Provides information regarding fish resources, regulations, and policies to various groups and the public.
