The Anadromous Fish Screen and Habitat Program in Salmon, Idaho is seeking 3 Fisheries Biological Aides (non-benefited) to be part of a fisheries monitoring and evaluation crew. Position will assist in monitoring the abundance, distribution, and habitat use of salmonids. This position will be part of a field crew of 3-4 people during the summer field season. Primary duties include: stream electrofishing, snorkeling, recording data, spawning ground surveys, operating and maintain PIT Tag detection systems, and maintaining all field equipment.
Minimum of one year completed pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in fisheries, biology or other closely related field; or equivalent training and work experience. Individuals with experience in the above fisheries techniques and salmonid identification will be given preference. Applicants should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and safety conscious. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license.
