Duties include biological work in the field of fish health. Work will be performed in a laboratory setting and include collection and processing of fish tissues for disease testing. This position will be responsible the operation and maintenance of the fish health laboratory including all bacteriology, virology, parasitology and polymerase chain reaction assays. Additional responsibilities involve travel to field collection sites, public outreach, report writing, budget preparation and administration, supervision of seasonal employees and training of Fish Culture Specialists.
Minimum – Masters degree or higher in natural resource field and two years or more of experience in natural resource field OR Bachelor’s degree or higher in natural resource field or biology and four years or more of experience in a natural resources field OR two years or more as a Fish & Wildlife Scientist II with the State of Vermont.
