Provide vital laboratory support for inspections following APHIS approved protocols. Perform diagnostic tests, document results, maintain cell cultures, conduct PCR analyses and maintain associated equipment. Maintain case records for inspection/ diagnostic and water quality cases. Analyze data and write reports.
M.S. or Ph.D. in aquaculture, fish health, or a similar field. Two years of experience in laboratory work including cell culture and molecular biology. Superior organizational skills, detail-oriented, good oral and written communication skills. Requires a reliable person who can work independently in a clean room using good aseptic technique. Must acquire AFS-FHS certification as an Aquatic Animal Health Inspector.
