Seeking three M.S. students to use environmental DNA (eDNA) to monitor juvenile coho salmon: (i) Experimental assessment of eDNA ecology and dynamics in a natural riverine setting, (ii) Comparison of local-scale occupancy estimates from eDNA and field surveys, and (iii) Comparison of basin-scale occupancy estimates from eDNA and field surveys. Students responsible for field collections of samples, laboratory analysis, data analysis, and report preparation.
B.S. in fisheries, natural resources, ecology, biology, or related field. Preferred: Strong statistical skills, experience with genetic techniques, excellent writing, highly motivated with strong work ethic.
