For each nonindigenous species we provide a map of the continental United States, with insets of Hawaii and Alaska, showing the native (if applicable) and nonnative occurrence by state. Maps were created at the state level because of the often imprecise locality data available for many records. In instances in which a fish is native to one section of a state but is introduced to another, that state is indicated as both native and nonnative. Shading of a state does not imply that a species is distributed statewide, but that it has been reported from at least one locality.
