Summer REU: aquatic/fisheries ecology in Northern Alaska
This research fellowship will assist in field sampling and lab experiments focused on responses across lake trophic levels (e.g., zooplankton, fish) as a result of climate change. The REU must be working towards completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field with graduation expected Fall 2014 or later. The candidate will work closely with senior researchers to develop an independent research project to be conducted during the 2014 field season and presented at the end of the summer (or future date).

Ideal candidates will have completed some relevant coursework with a GPA >3.0. Candidates should be comfortable working long days (6 days/week) in any and all weather/insect conditions and able to hike with a 50-lb pack across unforgiving tundra. Additionally, applicants should be able to work and live within a small scientific community in close quarters without access to cell phone coverage (WI-FI available).

Interested candidates should send a brief cover letter describing their research interests and experience, resume, list of three references, and unofficial transcripts to Stephen Klobucar at below email.
