Duties include leadership and management of various aquatic resource projects including but not limited to impingement and entrainment studies, thermal impact assessments, ecosystem restoration studies, and environmental impact assessments. Requisite skills and experience include proficiency in identification of all life stages of Midwestern fishes, development of study plans, eletroshocking, gill netting, seining, statistical analysis of data and other tasks applicable to water quality and aquatic ecology. Additional skills in benthic invertebrate identification also desired. The Sr. Fisheries Biologist will be responsible for supervision and leadership of other support staff.


• MS or PhD degree in Fisheries Biology or related aquatic resources discipline preferred
• 15-20 years experience required
• Technical knowledge of fish taxonomy, life history/ecology, and fisheries management protocol
• Familiarity with GPS
• Must be able to operate a boat and drive a vehicle towing a boat.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Fieldwork may involve strenuous activities associated with operating a boat and equipment on major rivers and lakes
• Must pass drug test, MVR and background checks
