Several 3-7 month positions, assisting with field projects involving sensitive and endangered fish populations of the Upper Colorado River. Duties include monitoring/researching native fishes and nonnative removal using a variety of electrofishing techniques (boat, barge, and raft), netting (seining, fyke and trammel), and PIT-technology.
Bachelor’s degree or degree-seeking in fisheries biology or closely related field. Preference may be given to applicants with electrofishing experience, boating/rafting experience, and demonstrated ability to work well independently and with others. Strenuous physical activity, long hours of operation, backpacking, rafting, and overnight camping in remote locations is required for field work operations.
