SD Game, Fish and Parks (Job based in Chamberlain, SD)
The primary focus of this position will be assisting with the management of Lake Francis Case, Lewis and Clark Lake, and Missouri River fisheries. This will include annual standard sampling surveys, special assessment surveys, angler use and harvest surveys, and applied research including data collection, analysis, and reporting in both written and oral venues. Also, this position will assist with equipment and grounds maintenance along with other additional duties as assigned. A bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries management, natural resource management or other related degree and four years professional fisheries experience; or a master’s degree in fisheries management or other related field may be substituted for experience is preferred. Knowledge of: principles used in the management of fish populations, physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of lakes, ponds, and streams; research, laboratory, and statistical methods as they relate to fisheries management; principles and terminology of data processing; technical report writing. Ability to: read and comprehend technical material; organize and present information effectively and in a logical sequence; establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, other agencies, and the public.
