Responsibilities

Postdoctoral Researcher – Modeling nutrient transport in surface waters

The Central Coast Wetlands Group and The Nature Conservancy seek a Postdoc to evaluate different nature-based water quality improvement approaches. The Postdoc will assemble available water quality data, and use fate and transport modeling to inform the size, placement, and performance of off-farm water quality improvement projects to reduce nutrient loads to important estuarine fish habitats. The Postdoc will be responsible for data collection, management, and analysis, modeling, writing and communicating results.

Qualifications

Ph.D.

· Experience in modeling hydrologic/ pollutant transport processes;

· Data management, analyses, modeling, interpretation;

· Understanding of freshwater and estuarine ecosystems;

· Works well independently and as part of a tight-knit team

· A desire to communicate results in presentations and peer-reviewed publications
