I seek a PhD student who studies spatial and seasonal variation in fish assemblage processes in South Carolina streams. An exceptional MS candidate will also be considered. Projects will include long hours of fieldwork year round to study local colonization and extinction using various sampling techniques.
Master’s degree (for PhD applicant) or Bachelor’s degree (for MS applicant) in fisheries ecology, field biology, biostatistics or related field. Candidates with strong quantitative skills are preferred. Please highlight your quantitative skills (e.g. R, WinBUGS) on your letter of interest. Applicants must demonstrate a strong work ethic. Ample opportunities exist to collaborate with state fisheries biologists and supervise undergraduate students in research/teaching.
