| Responsibilities | This project aims to assess the ecological effects of the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) in the Kaskaskia River Basin. The student will 1) collect samples of fish, mussels, and macroinvertebrates in streams, 2) measure multiple water-quality and habitat variables, 3) manage and analyze biological and GIS-based environmental data, 4) assist in writing project reports. The project requires occasional overnight travel and lodging. |
| Qualifications | We are looking for someone capable of gaining successful admission to NRES graduate program (GPA > 3.25 and GRE > 1100), undertaking demanding field-work, and with good communication and analytical skills. Experience conducting field-work in streams and with electrofishing is highly desirable. |
