The overall project goal is to assess trophic dynamics and interactions of muskellunge and smallmouth bass within a highly valued sportfishery in the New River, Virginia. To accomplish this goal, the student will assess population characteristics of both species, quantify food habits of muskellunge, and develop trophic and management models of the system.
B.S. or M.S. degree in fisheries science (or closely related field) is required. Preferred academic qualifications: cumulative GPA ≥ 3.5 and GRE scores above median in all categories.
