Estimate discard mortality of reef fish using a conventional tag approach. Pilot test effectiveness of descender devices at improving discard survival in deepwater reef fish using telemetry tags.
B.S. or B.A. in a biological science. Strong GRE scores and undergraduate GPA. Physical ability to conduct field research; field biology, quantitative, writing, and public speaking skills; SCUBA certified; and ability to excel in a multidisciplinary research environment.
