The incumbent will evaluate the evolution, success, and contemporary application of an ‘ecosystem approach’ to fishery management in the Laurentian Great Lakes Basin. Results of the analysis will provide: (i) a description of how fishery management issues in the Laurentian Great Lakes basin have been conceptualized over time; (ii) documentation of the evolution and success of an ecosystemic approach to confronting fishery management issues; and (iii) an evaluation of the progress toward contemporary ecosystem-based fishery management in the Laurentian Great Lakes.


An undergraduate degree in biology or ecology possessing an interest and background in history and human dimension sciences.
Strong analytical skills with coursework and knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods
Demonstrated ability to synthesize large volumes of information and data
Strong oral and written communication skills
