Job: Hatchery Manager

Responsible for the overall operation of a large multi-species hatchery facility that produces 125 million chum, 1,250,000 Chinook and 1,100,000 coho salmon annually. Supervises six permanent and 15 seasonal employees. Duties include but are not limited to: planning and coordinating hatchery activities; data collection and recording; maintaining accurate inventories of hatchery supplies and equipment; preparing annual hatchery operations and capital improvement budgets; preparing operations and production reports as required.
Firm knowledge of all salmon culture practices. BS degree in aquaculture or fisheries. Eight years overall fish culture experience (preferably in Alaska), including two years as a hatchery manager or assistant hatchery manager. Alaskan aquaculture experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
