| Responsibilities | Works under the supervision of the Production & Operations Manager. Responsible for overseeing, assisting and participating in all aspects of field investigations of salmon on Kodiak & Afognak Islands. Requires the ability to work both in the office and in remote field camps for extended periods. Will direct and support field projects, conduct data analysis and generate scientific reports. Demonstrated team building and leadership skills and the ability to work with government agencies and NGOs. |
| Qualifications | BS/BA in fisheries or related field and 5 years’ experience in fisheries biology, salmonid culture and/or hatchery management with increasing levels of responsibility. Experience may be substituted for education. Must have working command of fishery biology and techniques. Knowledge of freshwater ecology, salmon life history, smolt enumeration, limnology, sonar/hydroacoustics, and/or statistical analysis desired. Work history should show related prior experience with favorable employer evaluations regarding experience, skills, aptitude and attitude. |
