Salary GS-11/12/13 equivalent (Salary range 70,000 – 98,000 DOE), plus fringe benefit package.

The Council is seeking a Fishery Analyst to prepare analysis of environmental and policy issues pertaining to fisheries management off Alaska. This person will participate as part of a team of social, economic, and biological analysts from Council staff and from the staffs of other agencies. Primary duties include:

Preparing environmental and regulatory analyses and issue papers for use in the amendment of fishery management plans.

Coordinating with the Council’s stock assessment plan teams to review and prepare annual stock assessment and fishery evaluation documents.


A Master’s degree in fisheries science, marine biology, resource economics, or marine policy.
Experience in research or management of fisheries or other natural resources.
Ability to write clearly and succinctly, and articulate technical information to non-technical audiences.
