Univ of IL, IL Natural History Survey, Lake Michigan Biological Station
Assist with daily research activities in Lake Michigan fisheries. Duties include field sampling (gill net, trawl, plankton, etc.) and maintenance of field gear, laboratory facilities and research vessels. Participate in laboratory tasks including identification of zooplankton and benthic invertebrates, aging otoliths and diet analysis of fishes.
*Permanent: 1 – 2 years
BS in fisheries or closely related field. Good interpersonal and computer skills are essential. Candidate must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions and possible nights or weekends. Swimming ability is a must. SCUBA certification desired.
