Manage the commissioning and operation of an upstream adult fish collector at Cushman #2 Dam, downstream juvenile fish collector at Cushman #1 Dam and two fish hatcheries in the North Fork Skokomish. The Fish Facilities Manager will be stationed at the Lake Kokanee Hatchery office on the Cushman project. This position will: 1) oversee day-to-day operations of the hatcheries and fish collectors, 2) manage fish facilities operation staff, 3) meet fish supplementation and fish collector criteria detailed in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Licenses, 4) negotiate Hatchery Genetics Management Plans with the National Marine Fisheries Service, 5) plan and implement budgets, 6) work closely with Cushman project operation and maintenance staff to limit facilities failures, and 7) write annual reports.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelors degree in fisheries biology or related field with specialization in fisheries science, salmonid aquaculture, or other related biological fields and ten years professional level experience in fisheries or related environmental programs.
