We invite applications for a postdoctoral researcher to work on a project joint between scientists at the National Marine Fisheries Service and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution examining the ecology of forage species, especially mesopelagic fishes and euphausiids, at the New England continental shelf break and slope. Existing datasets will be used to characterize patterns in the abundance and distribution of these taxa in relation to environmental conditions and to quantify their interaction with higher predators, especially commercial fishes.
A PhD in fish ecology, fisheries oceanography, fisheries, or related field. Quantitative background with experience in programming and statistics, especially spatial statistics and multi-variate analyses.
